Premier League: Top 5 Transfer Predictions For 2013

5. Marouane Fellaini To Arsenal/Chelsea

Fellaini Everton midfielder Marouane Fellaini has been the object of affections for a number of clubs and when he signed a brand spanking new five-year contract to stay at Goodison Park back in 2011 to stay with the club until 2016 at the earliest, that was pretty much the end of matters as it appeared he would stay with the Toffee's. However, this week news broke that a release clause to the tune of £22 million had been inserted in the Belgian's contract, and that it could be activated by a club who both match the aforementioned valuation and are also playing in the Champions League. I wonder why David Moyes tried to keep that one quiet? Since then both Chelsea and Arsenal's ears have been well and truly pricked and both are interested in the midfielder, whilst Everton are desperately trying to bury the subject well and truly under the carpet by refusing to confirm the existence of said release clause. How Likely Is It? Fellaini has scored 9 times so far this season and is viewed as one of the best midfielders in the Premier League at present. If the release clause does exist, then it is difficult to imagine one of Chelsea or Arsenal not activating it. £22 million is a comparative snip compared to most transfer targets out there at the moment too.
