Premier League Transfers: 10 Ligue 1 Players England Needs

7. Raphael Guerreiro - FC Lorient

Another unknown quantity prior to this season, Raphael Guerreiro burst onto the world footballing scene by scoring the winning goal on his International debut for Portugal against Lionel Messi's Argentina at Old Trafford in November 2014. French-born Guerreiro stared for Lorient in the 2014/15 season, scoring 7 goals and assisting another 5, making the 21-year-old one of the young stars of the Ligue 1 season. Guerreiro's preferred position is at left-wing, but also has the capability to play left-back. This versatility is something which can come in massively handy for mid-table teams who don't have funds to strengthen in all the areas they'd like to. There is no doubt the Portuguese International would be a gamble, having only had 1 season in the spotlight, but with his worth due to skyrocket, it may be a gamble worth taking.
