Premier League's Most Overrated Players By Position

2. LW - Pedro - Chelsea

Chelsea has a lot of dead weight right now, whether it's Luiz, Kovačić, Giroud, Higuaín, or Ross Barkley. None of those are bad players, but they're all players who are ageing and or never realised their potential. They're not the kinds of players the club needs in order to get back into contention, but with a two window transfer ban, it doesn't seem like anything is going to change.

Another such player is Pedro. The Spaniard moved to Chelsea a few years ago and has been unable to set the league alight ever since. Similarly to players like Henrikh Mkhitariyan and Alexis Sanchez, he has shown moments of class and ability, book-ended by blazes of mediocrity. This season was no different, with Pedro failing to make any real impact when called upon.

Pedro is 31 years old and good for 8-ish goals a season, which would make him a decent squad player. However with Chelsea seemingly about to lose Eden Hazard, and unable to replace him, he's going to be even more important in the coming years. With any luck, Christian Pulisic will get more of a chance to prove himself next season, because it's clear Pedro is never going to fill Hazard's shoes.
