The Tottenham Hotspur star started out life as hot as any other promising, young British star, but has since faded into the background. That's not to say Alli is bad, far from it, but he wouldn't even rank in the top five most important Spurs players.

Alli has languished behind Kane, Eriksen, Son, Alderweireld, Lloris, Vertonghen, and Sissoko in terms of importance this season. His stats have been decreasing as well; in 2016/17, Alli scored 18 goals and made 7 assists. This season he's only racked up 5 goals and 3 assists. It's been a decline ever since his first proper season with Tottenham, to the point where he's no longer even the golden boy. Enter Harry Winks.

Alli is still solid but if Tottenham aim to seriously challenge for the title next season, he's one of the players they may have to look to improve upon. Alli could make for a great squad player, but he doesn't compare to his compatriots, let alone his counterparts in Manchester City or Liverpool's line-ups.

Alli is still only 23 years old and his best years could well be ahead of him, but he's certainly been an overrated sensation for the past three years, and this season cemented it.
