It's a horrible thing to say after everything the man has gone through, but if Ryan Taylor was a race horse, he would have been put out of his misery by now. Once again, the 'free-kick specialist' did nothing to prove Carver's decision to pick him ahead of Mehdi Abeid was the right one. Taylor was yards off the pace, couldn't find a pass, hooked a horrible free kick wide of the post when a left footer should have been taking it and failed to whip in any decent corner of note. On top of all that, he bottled the biggest tackle of the season in the build up to Leroy Fer's wonder strike. A fully committed and stronger Abeid would have won that one for sure. Not a good day for the former Wigan man all round. He can have no complaints after being hauled off for Rolando Aarons in the second half.
