Queens Park Rangers chairman Tony Fernandez will order a mass clear-out at Loftus Road this summer, with as many as ten first team players set for the chop, according to the
Mirror. The likes of Adel Taarabt, Julio Cesar, Loic Remy, Chris Samba and Bobby Zamora will all be sold in order to cut down the R's huge wage bill and fall into line with strict Football League rules as the strugglers prepare for life after the Premier League. Fernandez has however assured manager Harry Redknapp that his job is safe regardless of whether the club hurtle into the Championship this season, and the pair are to begin talks as to who should stay and who should go. Airline tycoon Fernandez has also assured the club he and other wealthy board members will remain loyal and will do everything within their power to ensure QPR bounce straight back up again next season. The R's took a massive gamble in January in a desperate bid to avoid relegation and spent close to £20 million on the likes of Loic Remy and Chris Samba, the latter of whom is on a mammoth £100,000-per-week. Both will be sold in the summer however and there will be no shortages of offers for Remy, who has been in electric form since his move to the Premier League. His wonderful strike against Wigan at the weekend was his fifth goal in eight appearances. Despite his heroics, the R's succumbed to a last minute Wigan equaliser from a free kick, and Taarabt, who turned his back on the strike, infuriating his fans and manager, is set to join him in finding another club. Bobby Zamora, who was sent off in that game for a reckless hack on Jordi Gomez, will also be told to leave, while Esteban Granero and Rob Green are also considering their futures.
