Rangers Transfers: 10 Signings To Secure Promotion

9. Patrick Bamford (Chelsea)

Most recently on loan at Crystal Palace, the truth may hit Rangers hard that securing players wishing to play in the English Premier League is unrealistic in 2016. Bamford has returned to Chelsea eager to prove himself, and former Ranger (and Chelsea player) Ray Wilkins feels the young man is tailor-made to fit in under Guus Hiddink at Stamford Bridge. That may hamper any prospective deal, but Glasgow Rangers could offer something the fledgling young Premier League starlet craves, first team football. Regular appearances didn't come easy for Bamford during the first half of the campaign with Palace, and the thought of playing on front of 50,000 roaring fans at Ibrox Stadium on a regular basis just might appeal to him. It doesn't look likely that Chelsea will give the striker a berth in the first team for any great length of time, he's almost killing time sitting on the sidelines. Rangers would give Bamford a chance to prove himself, and he'd go back to England a much better player. Netting 17 times for Middlesbrough during his loan there shows that he knows the way to goal.
