Rangers Transfers: 10 Signings To Secure Promotion

8. Scott Arfield (Burnley)

Truthfully, Rangers had the chance to sign Scott Arfield back when the midfielder played for Falkirk. Even then, the player showed the kind of potential which seemed to suggest that he could be a success at a higher level. A 3 year spell with Huddersfield Town didn't provide the kind of upward mobility Arfield was hoping for, but he has since been key to the exploits of Burnley. Arfield has English Premier League experience, but he suffered relegation with Burnley in 2015. Currently, Burnley sit 5th in the English Championship, and there is a chance that they could return to the financial promised land of Premier division. This may turn Arfield's attention, but he is keenly aware that Rangers are the biggest draw in Scottish football. It may appeal to the man to return to his homeland and prove that he has become a much more well-rounded professional down South. Much like Kevin Nolan, he'd be the kind of midfield player Rangers are seeking. Better yet, he's only 27 years old, which means he still has a fair few years left in his career before he starts to deteriorate.
