Rangers Transfers: 9 New Signings Fans Should Be Excited For

5. Ryan Jack

There's no risk involved in the signing of Ryan Jack. Not only was he 100% free after seeing his contract run down at Aberdeen, but the Scottish midfielder is also still only 25 years of age. As Aberdeen's captain last season, he represents a clear sign that playing for Rangers is a bigger lure than fans up north may like to admit.

Simply signing away Aberdeen's captain is a mini-victory for 'Bluenoses' the world over, but Rangers fans will be expecting the same commanding performances Jack showed elsewhere in the middle of the park when he pulls on the jersey. There's no reason why he can't deliver.

He certainly can't be worse than Andy Halliday. The Rangers midfield needed almost as much bolstering as the defence, so convincing Jack to make the leap to Ibrox is a step in the right direction. Jack should be able to help players like Jason Holt drive forward, instead of having to focus on protecting the defence.
