The Spanish great has played for five different sides in his home country, but his shortest spell came at Atletico Madrid. He too played for just one year, during the 2013/14 season, but was an important part of the squad that romped to the historic La Liga triumph and also marched all the way to the Champions League final.

Costing just €5.1 million from Barcelona, Villa participated in 47 games over the course of the campaign and scored 15 times, 13 of which came in La Liga.

Even though he wasn't as prolific as his Valencia days or even during the first year at Barcelona, Villa's experience and big-game pedigree nonetheless proved very crucial in guiding the Colchoneros to their first domestic success since 1996.

His final appearance for the club though, ended in an immense heartbreak as they went down to Real Madrid in Lisbon's showpiece European game, and weeks later, he announced he'd be leaving for MLS side New York City.
