Mario Mandzukic is a stellar journeyman who enjoyed success of varying degrees with every club he's played for including Atletico Madrid, where he lasted just one year but made a telling impact.

He was off to a flyer by netting the winner against Real Madrid to clinch the Spanish Super Cup at the start of the 2014/15 season, and then struck 12 times in the league from 28 games. Overall, his tally stood at 20 goals from 43 appearances in all competitions.

Brought in to replace David Villa, the Croatian international was largely secondary to Antoine Griezmann but nevertheless played the role of support striker quite impeccably.

He always showed up in the big games and in November 2014, became the first player in the club's history to score a hat-trick in the Champions League when he netted thrice against Olympiacos.

Mandzukic left for Juventus at the end of that season and witnessed more success in terms of silverware over the next four years, before joining Al-Duhail in Qatar this January.
