After Mark Schwarzer€™s departure to Leicester City last season and Petr Cech€™s move to Arsenal, the England youth player has risen in the pecking order to third, but he still faces a mountainous task if he is to play for the first-team. The Stamford Bridge hierarchy clearly see something within the player, penning him to new five-year contract last summer. Having featured in the FA Youth Cup-winning side of 2012, it can be hoped that Blackman is given the chance to prove himself at a higher level €“ especially from an English point of view.
