Ranking Chelsea’s Premier League Goalkeepers – Worst to Best
9. Jamal Blackman
Chelsea Career: 2012-present, 0 appearances. The young keeper has risen through the ranks at Chelsea, joining the under-13 team and currently finds himself as third keeper, behind Courtois and Begovic. After Mark Schwarzers departure to Leicester City last season and Petr Cechs move to Arsenal, the England youth player has risen in the pecking order to third, but he still faces a mountainous task if he is to play for the first-team. The Stamford Bridge hierarchy clearly see something within the player, penning him to new five-year contract last summer. Having featured in the FA Youth Cup-winning side of 2012, it can be hoped that Blackman is given the chance to prove himself at a higher level especially from an English point of view. Whether that will prove to be through injury and suspension to the preferred keepers, or another loan move elsewhere, the extended contract shows faith in a player who has potential.
An admiration for the arrogant personalities in football. Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Diego Simeone, even Joey Barton. If you were to ask who I'd rather have in my team, Messi or Ronaldo? The latter.
