If there was one player whose name on the Liverpool team-sheet made fans shudder last night, it was that of Toure's. The 33-year-old was calamitous at times last season, scoring a wretched own goal against Fulham and gifting West Brom an equaliser in an important game at the Hawthorns. The Ivorian came in for the struggling Lovren, and what followed was one of the most surprisingly magnificent defensive performances you are likely to see. From start to finish to former Arsenal and Manchester City man was faultless, winning countless headers, making blocks and clearances in abundance and playing with a leadership that seemed to make Liverpool's defence gel. At one point he even produced a Lionel Messi-esque dribble down the left touchline; a moment that Reds fans will remember for a long time. Toure is a likeable player, and his performance was incredibly pleasing to watch. He must now keep his place in the side for Saturday's key Premier League with Chelsea, and potentially beyond. Please let us know how you'd rank the Liverpool starting XI from Tuesday's game.
