Ranking Newcastle's Transfer Dealings 2014-15 - Outgoings

8. Dan Gosling - Released (Signed For Bournemouth)

Season Rating: 4 Success Of Sale Rating: 7 Injury may have wrecked Dan Gosling's progress, but Newcastle United certainly didn't help. Still only 25, Gosling left on a free transfer last summer and was picked up by eventual Championship winners Bournemouth - even if he did make just 17 appearances. The midfielder will be back in the Premier League next season, although how much game time he will get remains to be seen. His time on Tyneside - where he played on just 14 occasions in the Premier League during his four years - was not a happy one and he has failed to ever fulfil the undoubted potential he had as a youngster, so it was understandable exactly why Newcastle let him leave last summer. Gosling could have offered another body to the Magpies squad during the last campaign, but not a particularly effective one. It was the right decision to let him leave.
