Rewind a season to before the dire relegation and Sunderland donned another black and blue away kit, this one was a very decent effort from Nike who provided a couple of gorgeous kits. It was relatively simple, sticking to plain stripes, but with a red trim to set the kit off. Combined with the white Reg Vardy sponsor which oversaw some great times, and this kit was a winner, even if the team certainly wasn't.
