Last season's effort was really very nice in hindsight. It wasn't too dissimilar to Adidas' previous attempt, but the block panels of black and red looked very professional on the kit which would have witnessed very few goals throughout another season of disappointment. The gold trim offered something different, and incorporated all four main Sunderland colours, while still remaining classy, as opposed to splashing the colours all across the kit. The iconic, red Adidas lines running down the black shorts were also an excellent addition to the kit.
