Ranking The Best Football Transfers In Europe During Summer 2019/20
32. Julian Brandt - Borussia Dortmund
With Bayern Munich making some solid purchases and strengthening their side over the summer, Borussia Dortmund knew they had to do similar business to try and regain the Bundesliga title this season.
One of the purchases Dortmund have made to close the gap is winger-turned central midfielder, Julian Brandt. The former Bayer Leverkusen man was a revelation last season following his change in position, notching up a bunch of assists and becoming a real threat in the middle of the pitch.
As a winger, he already had an attacking mentality, and he uses that to great effect in the opposing team's half. He's able to use his close control and pace to bring the ball forward quickly, causing all types of chaos for defenders. He's also becoming a more consistent goal threat, which will make him even more dangerous, especially when combining with the other forwards in Dortmund's squad.
Another positive for Brandt is that he'll have better defensive players behind him while playing for Dortmund. This should allow him to flourish in his new position as he'll have less defensive responsibility and should be free to cause as much damage as possible.
