2. Its The Pinnacle Of The Sport
It perhaps says something of the nature of a sport when the international game is not the highest level, but thats an argument for another day. State of Origin is head and shoulders above any other form of Rugby League, with great players on show, intensity, competitive and tight games, and the edge that I mentioned earlier, the series really does have it all. Last years series showcased all of this, and even added a thrilling finish in to boot. With the series at 1-1, and the scores tied at 20-20 in Origin III, the series finale looked like heading to a golden point shootout, Cooper Cronk nailed a 40-yard drop goal to win his state the series, meaning Queensland had won an unprecedented 7 series to date. A fitting end to a spectacular series, and the marquee finish that it deserved.
