Team News

Sheffield United are facing a triple loss as Billy Paynter, Elliott Whitehouse and Callum McFadzean are all ineligible. There's a place available up front alongside Jose Baxter, as Chris Porter and Shaun Miller battle for a place in the starting eleven. Fulham are expected to make changes and could give a run-out to the likes of Elsad Zverotic, Lasse Vigen Christensen and Aaron Hughes. They only have one injury doubt, with defender Fernando Amorebieta expected to miss-out with a knee problem.

Key Stats

Four times FA Cup champions Sheffield United most recently won the FA Cup 79 years ago but they have never lost to Fulham in this competition, winning four out of five of the previous meetings. Fulham have never won the competition but were beaten finalists in 1975, where they lost 2-0 to West Ham. Sheffield United manager Brian Clough also reached the final of this competition in 1991 when he played for Nottingham Forest but they were defeated by Tottenham Hotspur.

Likely Line-Ups

Sheffield United Long, Brayford, Maguire, Collins, Hill, Flynn, Doyle, McGinn, Murphy, Baxter, Porter Fulham Stekelenburg, Richardson, Burn, Hughes, Zverotic, Kacaniklic, Sidwell, Karagounis, Dejagah, Kasami, Bent

Match Preview

Despite there being 47 league places between the two sides there is plenty of potential for the country to witness an FA Cup giant killing, especially as the Blades have already taken the scalp of Aston Villa. Fulham also face a stern test in the Premier League on Tuesday as they clash with Swansea City, as the fixture list throws up trouble for the relegation strugglers. Sheffield United hold a comfortable advantage over Fulham in the head-to-head record as their next victory will take them to 30 wins over the Cottagers. Fulham currently have 19. Expect changes to be made for the visitors as this competition will give an opportunity for the fringe players to take to the field, while the normal stars rest and hope for three points in midweek. Prediction 2-1
