Sheffield United and Wales international striker Ched Evans has been sentenced to five years in jail after being found guilty of raping a 19-year old woman. The incident occurred in a Premier Inn hotel room near Rhyl last May 30th after Evans and Port Vale defender Clayton McDonald, both 23, enjoyed a night out in the seaside town. The woman, who has not been named for legal reasons, claimed to police that she had no memory of the incident and that she was €œtoo drunk to consent€ to have sex with the footballers. Bot men admitted to having sex with the girl but denied the rape charges. A Caernarfon Crown Court found McDonald not guilty and was acquitted, however Evans was found guilty and was sentenced today. According to the Judge he will be "released after half the sentence has been served". You can read more on this story at the BBC website.
