Sport's 10 Most Incredible Winning Streaks

8. Manchester City (2017)

In the midst of one of their strongest Premier League campaigns in history, Manchester City smashed the record for the most consecutive wins in the modern game. Between August and December 2017, they chalked up 20 back-to-back match wins in all competitions.

In that course of time, they scored an almighty 56 goals while only conceding 13. Their run started with a 2-1 win over Bournemouth on the 26 August, and only came to an end when they lost by the same margin to Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champion's League on the 6 December.

This is not, however, the longest winning streak in the history of football. That honour belongs to German team Dresdner SC , who during the 1942-43 season won all 23 of their matches.
