10. Christine Ohuruogu
The London 2012 silver medallist was one of the many athletes to be put under the spotlight following the success of the Olympic Games, and she did not disappoint at all. The 29 year old claimed a second 400m world title in Moscow back in August, becoming the first British woman to do so. The final came down to a tense photo finish, where she beat Botswanian Amantle Montsho by 0.004 seconds with a time of 49.41s. The win has also seen her beat the British record, which was previously held by Kathy Cook. Ohuruogu has also been named British female athlete of the year by the British Athletics Writers Association for the third time, having previously won in 2007 and 2009, beating relay team mate Perri Shakes-Drayton and hurdler Tiffany Porter into second and third place respectively. She also recieved a MBE in the New Year, but despite having a strong year on the track, is very unlikely to win the award in 2013.
