The announcement of Mauricio Pochettino becoming the new head coach of Spurs on May 27th was met with a mixed response, somewhat inevitably for a club that has a track record of recent failure in hiring bosses. After all, the admittedly talented coach has only had fourteen months of managerial experience in England and was at a team lower in the league than the club themselves, so the indicators for success weren't exactly as obvious as the likes of Frank De Boer or Louis Van Gaal. After an underwhelming season which involved £100 million+ on new players who struggled to gel, a minimal net spend and the trials and tribulations of having Andre Villas Boas and Tim Sherwood as head coaches, the pressure will be on for the Argentinian to do well at Tottenham. And he will have to be so quickly. In recent history Tottenham have perennially been one of the clubs that are always tipped to challenge for a top four finish and a spot in the UEFA Champions League, and thanks to their history they are also expected to compete in all cup competitions. Pochettino will be aware of this and he will need to hit the ground running in order to meet the lofty expectations of the Tottenham Hotspur fans and of chairman Daniel Levy, whose trigger finger is the most notorious in the Premier League. And in order to be a success at the club, there are several things he needs to do if he wants to get the club to the standard required by everyone, and with that in mind, here are ten things he could do to make the team click and challenge for success.
