Spurs 2013/14 Season: 6 Things We Expect To See

3. A 20 Goals A Season Striker

Roberto Soldado Spurs have been on the hunt for a top striker all summer and, having missed out on the likes of Christian Benteke and David Villa, reports are currently suggesting that a deal for Valencia's Spanish international centre forward Roberto Soldado is close. A world class finisher up top is what Spurs have desperately been missing for the last few seasons. Last year, Jermain Defoe and Emmanuel Adebayor managed a meagre 16 Premier League goals between them, while Soldado scored 24 in La Liga on his own. Signing Soldado - 0r a striker of his calibre - is what Spurs fans expect. Transfer windows fizzling out without that elusive top class striker signing have been something they've become all too accustomed to and it just isn't good enough. Last minute panic purchases of the likes of Louis Saha and Grzegorz Rasiak simply will not suffice any more, so hopefully Franco Baldini and Daniel Levy will deliver.
