Spurs Dream XI For The Premier League Opener

10. Ben Davies (Left Back)

While some people might argue that they'd prefer Sevilla's Alberto Moreno or VfL Wolfsburg's Ricardo Rodriguez, there's no denying that a more realistic and safe option for Spurs' troublesome left back position is Swansea City's Ben Davies. Indeed, the Welsh international has been strongly linked to the club and it was widely reported a few days ago that the two clubs had agreed a fee for the player - strongly believed to be £10 million - amidst interested and a rejected £8 million bid from Liverpool. He has a proven ability to perform well in the Premier League, is only 21 years old, will improve dramatically in the coming years and he has recently spoken to Gareth Bale himself in a bid to learn more about Spurs - and Bale has supposedly made him very keep to sign on the dotted line at White Hart Lane. He would be a very good acquisition for the club and it would be great to see him fill the left back position on the opening day of the season - Danny Rose just isn't good enough and Benoit Assou-Ekotto's days at the club are numbered.
