Spurs New Manager: 10 Replacements For Tim Sherwood
8. Jurgen Klinsmann
Jurgen Klinsmann is a name that always seems to be thrown in to the mix when Spurs look for a new manager in the modern era - the former prolific German striker having had two spells at White Hart Lane in the mid-1990s - but nothing ever seems to come of it and it's unlikely that anything will this time around. That said, he's surely a man who is worth considering. He is a big name, knows the club and has experience of managing a bigger club in Bayern Munich - all of which should work in his favour, should he ever take charge at Spurs. One major stumbling block is that Klinsmann is currently the manager of the United States national team - a role he has been in since 2011 - and has successfully taken them to the upcoming World Cup in Brazil. He will surely want to see this tournament out before considering any offers from other clubs, which will mean Spurs wouldn't have him in place until the end of the group stage at the very earliest. Given that's well over a month away, this probably rules him out as an option. Daniel Levy will want someone in place as quickly as possible so that he can become accustomed to the role and start considering his plans in advance of pre-season. Klinsmann, therefore - as glamorous an option as he might be - is a major long-shot for the role.
