Spurs News: Federico Fazio BANNED From Sevilla Stadium
Spurs' former Sevilla defender won't be allowed back there.
According to Spanish news outlet Estadio Deportivo, Tottenham Hotspur Football Club's new signing Federico Fazio has been banned from ever returning to former club Sevilla's stadium. Jose Castro, the Spanish clubs president, is not at all happy about the way in which Federico Fazios transfer to White Hart Lane occurred and has banned the Argentine from ever returning to the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán. Fazio had wanted to return in order to say goodbye to the fans who adored him and who he loved so much, after having spent seven years with the La Liga club, but he has been forced to postpone that idea while he searches for another venue to use. Castro has claimed that Fazio refused a new deal at Sevilla which would have seen his 10 million (£8 million) release clause increase and that he bought his way out of his contract in order to make the move to Spurs. As a result, the president of Sevilla thinks the centre back has behaved in a selfish and disrespectful manner towards him and the club. Regardless, Fazio made 150 appearances for Sevilla and won the Europa League with the club, so it is something of a surprising stance on the part of Castro - and it will be a very strange situation if Spurs and Sevilla ever get drawn against each other in European competition. The president does wish to look forward from now on, however, saying this:
Fazio is past. Im just saying that. We must be aware of the present and future with an exciting squad. What do you think of this extraordinary move on the part of Sevilla's president Jose Castro?
