According to the
Mail Online, Tottenham Hotspurs are set to make a £10 million move for Barcelona forward David Villa. The Spanish legend 31, has struggled to regain his form at the Nou Camp after breaking his tibia, an injury which kept him on the sidelines for eight months. Villa has scored just nine goals in 27 La Liga appearances in his comeback season, a record which is below his usual standard especially when comparing these stats to his mid 20s tally when playing for Valencia. La Liga champions, Barcelona, are willing to listen to offers for the striker but feel a fee in the region of £12 million would be an fair deal. Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has hinted he wont pay the asking price and will instead trying to negotiate a deal worth £10 million. Whilst Spurs may not want to spend another £2 million on Villa but close rivals Arsenal have also been linked with the Spanish forward and may be willing to spend that extra £2 million. Spurs are also being linked with a move for Internacionals Leandro Damiao who came close to joining Spurs in summer but the clubs could not agree a fee. A deal believed to be in the region of £18 million is being prepared in hopes that Spurs can add more star power to their attack. The fee to cover the deals of Villa and Damiao may lead to Gareth Bale being shipping out to Real Madrid, the Spanish giants are said to be willing to splash £65 million on the Welshman.
