Spurs Transfer News: Erik Lamela To Join For £30 Million Within 24 Hours

Daily Star. The 21-year-old will fly to England to conclude negotiations which have been on-going for the last week between his agent Pablo Sebbag, and Tottenham technical director, Franco Baldini. Talks between the two parties stalled briefly when Spurs balked at the Argentina international's £30 million valuation with the expectation that Anzhi's Willian would also join for the same price. However, with the Brazilian now off to Chelsea instead, Tottenham have since agreed to pay the fee and eclipse their club-transfer-record for the third time this season. Manager Andre Villas-Boas has already splashed the cash on Corinthian's midfielder Paulinho and Valencia striker Roberto Soldado, who joined for a respective £17 million and £26 million earlier this summer. Spurs are mindful of completing the deal for Lamela as soon as possible after getting their fingers burnt when Chelsea swooped in for Willian at the 11th hour despite the South American having undergone a medical at White Hart Lane. Villas-Boas wants to add to his attacking options with Gareth Bale poised for a world-transfer record move to Real Madrid.
