Spurs Transfer News: Real Madrid Set Gareth Bale Deadline

Daily Star. Madrid are desperate to add a big name star to their ranks after watching league rivals Barcelona swoop for Neymar earlier this week, and have been encouraged by the fact that the Welshman has yet to pen a new deal at White Hart Lane. The Spanish giants have now dramatically upped the stakes by increasing their offer for the double PFA Player of the Year to £60 million. They will also match the wages the winger currently picks up in North London and will even offer him a lucrative image rights deal, earning him many more millions. There has been speculation over Bale's future for months now with Manchester United also rumoured to be interested, but now the 23-year old must make a decision on where he will be playing his football next season with Madrid keen to complete the deal as soon as possible. Los Blancos are expected to partly fund the move by selling Angel di Maria to French side Monaco for £24 milion and striker Gonzalo Higuain to Italians Juventus for £21 million.
