Spurs Transfer News: Roberto Soldado To Join For £25 Million Within 24 Hours?

Metro. The 28-year-old looks set to complete his protracted move to White Hart Lane following a month of talks between Spurs and Los Che representatives, with the finalisation of the deal expected to be announced today or tomorrow. Valencia president Amadeo Salvo has already confirmed the transfer has been agreed between the two clubs and that only an issue with the player's agent is delaying proceedings. Salvo told Spanish reporters today:

The deal with Tottenham has been completed. A problem with Soldado€™s agents has come up and the player will not leave the club until a solution has been found.
The 28-year-old has scored six times in 11 international appearances for Spain and last season netted 24 goals in La Liga, making him the division's fifth-highest scorer and the second-highest-scoring Spaniard. He emerged as one of Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas' top transfer targets this summer following one-time target Christian Benteke's decision to sign a new contract at Aston Villa. Valencia are riddled with debt and need to sell by Saturday to avoid a sharp rise in Spanish tax demands, and sources in the city claim business should be concluded within 24 hours. Soldado would become Tottenham's third summer signing following the captures of Brazilian international midfielder Paulinho for £17 million and FC Twente winger Nacer Chadli for £7 million.
