Spurs Transfers: 10 Linked Players Tottenham Should Avoid

2. Goran Pandev (Napoli)

Like Alberto Gilardino, Goran Pandev both plies his trade in Italy and is the wrong side of 30 years old (Pandev will be 31 next month). Unlike Alberto Gilardino, Goran Pandev has a pretty terrible goals to games ratio - especially for a striker. Pandev is a Macedonian international who currently plays for Napoli, where he has lost his place in the first eleven, and has previously played for both Inter Milan and Lazio, but he has never been a twenty goals per season striker - and Spurs already have enough players who aren't scoring enough goals. Napoli are reported to have expressed an interest in a number of Spurs' players in recent months - including Jan Vertonghen, Mousa Dembele and Sandro - and Pandev has reportedly been said to be a potential part-exchange player in any offer. However, regardless of the nature of his potential transfer, it's one that Spurs should avoid because he does not have the goalscoring quality or the potential longevity to warrant bringing him to the club and he is by no means an improvement on the likes of Emmanuel Adebayor or Roberto Soldado.
