Spurs Transfers: 10 Linked Players Tottenham Should Avoid
4. Yevhen Konoplyanka (Dnipro)
Yevhen Konoplyanka is a man in demand. Long-linked to Spurs and Liverpool, it is said that Manchester United have joined the race for the Ukrainian international winger who plays for Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk in his homeland. Konoplyanka is 24 years old and has many decent years ahead of him and, at £12 million, his confirmed release clause is certainly affordable for Spurs. That said, his purchase would represent proof that a lesson has yet to be learned at White Hart Lane, despite past mistakes. Konoplyanka has - it goes without saying - no Premier League experience. Having recently purchased the likes of Erik Lamela and Nacer Chadli - both of whom can also play on the wing - from foreign leagues, Spurs know it often doesn't work out. There is also the fact that, along with Lamela and Chadli, Spurs also have the likes of Andros Townsend, Aaron Lennon, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Christian Eriksen who can play on the wings already. They should, therefore, at least offload a couple of those before bringing in another winger when other positions - such as left back and up front - need addressing far more urgently. Chadli and Lamela may also yet come good in North London, after having had a season to adjust, so Spurs could have a couple of ready-made superstars ready to unleash on the wings this coming season.
