Spurs Transfers: 10 Players They Must Sign This Summer
7. Matthijs De Ligt (Ajax)
By now, Ajax must be sick of the sight of Tottenham Hotspur. Just last year, they swooped in to steal Davinson Sanchez, and before him it was Christian Eriksen in 2013 and Jan Vertonghen in 2012.
There's a reason the club keep going back to Amsterdam in search of talent, though. The chosen club of Johan Cruyff is renowned the world over for its ability to churn out technically gifted and tactically astute players.
The latest one off the production line is 18-year-old Matthijs De Ligt, a classy centre-back so precocious that he was handed his international debut just in time to play a small part in the Netherlands' disastrous 2018 World Cup qualifying campaign.
That minor blip aside, he looks to be absolutely nailed on to become one of the world's leading centre-backs, and whomever manages to get his signature this summer is going to be quids in one way or the other.
