Spurs Transfers: 5 Deals Pochettino Could Complete Today

5. Danny Welbeck

Considering Man Utd's well-publicised issues in the League (and indeed the League Cup) so far this season, the fact that they are currently so willing to let one of their strikers leave the club for such a reportedly low fee might seem a little baffling, but it could work to Spurs' favour. Welbeck has been a good servant to United, having been farmed out on loan in the past, and he certainly has goals in his game, even if Van Gaal doesn't believe there are enough. Right now it looks like Spurs will take the pacey striker on a season long loan with a £2m fee, and the possibility of a permanent move at the end of the loan, as long as it is successful. He has been told that his future lies away from Old Trafford, and at just 23 years old that future could still be very bright. North London rivals Arsenal, Newcastle, Sunderland and Hull have also enquired into the player's availability, but Goal.com claims his preference is White Hart Lane.
