Spurs Transfers: 5 Deals Pochettino Could Complete Today

2. Trimming The Fat

Right now, the Spurs squad is just too big, and even more importantly there are a significant number of players on the books that Pochettino clearly does not fancy. Having spent a massive sum last year - which in some ways will have dictated how comparatively little Spurs have spent this summer - the club need to recoup some of that money, and selling their superfluous players would make sense, with a few on sizeable contracts. The likes of Sandro, Aaron Lennon and Andros Townsend are all wanted by QPR, though not all will leave, and all of Lewis Holtby, Benoit Assou-Ekotto, Roberto Soldado, Vlad Chiriches, Mousa Dembele and Kyle Naughton have been told they aren't in Pochettino's long-term plans. That's a lot of wages tied up, and in some cases, a good amount of fees if buyers can be found in time.
