Spurs Transfers: 5 January Replacements For Jermaine Defoe

1. Javier Hernandez

Manchester United's out-of-favour Javier Hernandez is another possibility for Tottenham in January. The United striker is cutting an increasingly frustrated figure at Old Trafford this season, as he has largely been used as a substitute, making only one Premier League start for the champions. That came against Cardiff and the Mexican was hooked after 72 minutes, meaning he has yet to complete a full game for the Red Devils. Hernandez realises he is down the pecking order at United, with Robin van Persie and Wayne Rooney both preferred by David Moyes, while the gradual return to form of Danny Welbeck is also keeping him out of the side. However, the popular star, affectionately known as "Chicharito" (Little Pea) admits his lack of playing time is a concern, and may have to reassess his future. That could pave the way for a move in the January window, and Tottenham could test United's resolve to hang on to the diminutive star. Who do you think should replace Jermaine Defoe at White Hart Lane? Let us know in the comment section, below.
