Spurs Transfers: 5 January Signings To Save Their Season

2. Javier Hernandez

One of Tottenham's biggest problems this season has been their inability to score goals. Having netted just 15 times in the Premier League, they have the lowest goal ratio of any side currently in the top half of the table. Only Hull, Cardiff, West Ham, Crystal Palace and rock bottom Sunderland have netted fewer, which is a worrying statistic. For those reasons, Spurs need at least two new strikers in January. One of them could be Manchester United's unwanted striker Javier Hernandez, who couldn't even get in the starting line-up in last night's Capital One Cup win at Stoke. The Mexican is cutting a frustrated figure at Old Trafford at present, and has only played a full 90 minutes of league football once this season. And the striker, affectionately known to fans as 'Chicharito' - Little Pea - recently suggested he could quit in the New Year in order to seek out more regular playing time. Tottenham could offer the diminutive star more time on the pitch, and Hernandez may relish an extended stay in the Premier League rather than moving abroad.
