According to recent reports, Andre Villas-Boas is all set to trigger a summer clear-out of his midfield at the end of the season with Scott Parker, Tom Huddlestone and Jake Livermore
set for the chop. That would free up plenty of space in the centre of Spurs' midfield and one individual the former Chelsea boss wants to bring in to fill it is former Arsenal ace Alex Song. The 25-year old left the Emirates last summer for Barcelona but has been far from settled in Spain and wants a return to the Premier League. He has been linked with a move back to the Gunners but is unlikely to do so having fallen out with Arsene Wenger. That leaves Tottenham with an unobstructed run for the midfielder, and they will make an audacious bid to land his signature in the summer as Villas-Boas seeks to overhaul his engine room and beef up his squad.
