With Toby Alderweireld expected to depart White Hart Lane this summer, Mawson -who has been on Tottenham's radar for quite some time - would be an ideal replacement.
Despite Swansea's relegation, Mawson impressed many this season and earned himself an England call-up in March. He's even earned comparisons to Alderweireld due to his ability to read the game and skill at distributing the ball from the back
At the age of 24, Mawson is just entering his prime as a central defender, and is another player who may just need Pochettino's guidance to reach his full potential.
He may not be able to replace the departing Belgian's experience but he is a strong, capable and athletic centre-half who could form part of that youthful and exciting spine of the Spurs side, and cement his place at in the first team for many years to come.
