Spurs Transfers: New First Team XI Based On Rumours

10. Ben Davies - Swansea City (Left Back)

Nigel French/EMPICS SportNigel French/EMPICS SportSpurs are undoubtedly desperate for a left back. Last season, with Benoit Assou-Ekotto out on loan (a man who, after his World Cup headbutting exploits, probably won't be heading back to White Hart Lane), they only had Danny Rose as a senior left back - and he's just not good enough for a club with top four aspirations. Jan Vertonghen and Kyle Naughton were forced to cover the position when Rose was injured - with Vertonghen being capable, but his absence from the centre back position weakening Spurs, and with Naughton being a natural right back - which wasn't exactly convenient. As such, Mauricio Pochettino has reportedly earmarked the position for improvement and Swansea City's Ben Davies is said to be the prime target. It certainly sounds like a realistic proposition and Spurs are said to have already opened talks. We wait with baited breath to see if the move happens.
