Spurs Vs Dinamo Tbilisi: 5 Key Things We Learned

3. Sandro Is Hungry

Making his first start for Spurs since January following an injury, Sandro looked hungry for action. After the signings of Etienne Capoue and Paulinho, the competition for places in the centre of the Spurs midfield has become incredibly intense and Sandro showed that he's up to the task. Perhaps a little over eager at times, 'the beast' was a little wreckless in the tackle and picked up the game's first booking, and a couple of his passes went astray - which is understandable given his lack of match practise - but the Brazilian enforcer produced a display that emphasised just how useful he is when it comes to bullying opposition midfielders into losing possession and picking up the scraps of, and indeed halting, opposition attacks. One thing is for sure; in Capoue, Paulinho, Mousa Dembele and Sandro, Spurs have one of the best central midfields in the Premier League - if not the best.
