Stoke Agree £6 Million Deal For Birmingham Striker Cameron Jerome

Stoke boss Tony Pulis close to adding a big money striker to his ranks and claims are he might be looking for another before the window shuts.

After being blown out of the water by Sunderland who bid £10 million for Spurs striker Peter Crouch yesterday, Stoke have agreed an undisclosed fee (though believed to be around £6 million) for Birmingham City striker Cameron Jerome. Having chased the player for the majority of the summer and even having an offer rejected earlier, Stoke boss Tony Pulis now looks sure to land his man with only personal terms needed to be agreed. With the player likely desperate for a return to the Premier League after Birmingham City's relegation to the Championship last season, it's probably a case of dotting the I's and crossing the T's. In what is expected to be a busy day in the transfer market for Pulis, a deal is still hoped to be completed for Tottenham midfielder Wilson Palacios who is likely to come in for a similar fee as Jerome if terms can be agreed. The club are also said to still want another striker to come in and are monitoring the Crouch/Sunderland situation and haven't ruled out making a last minute swoop for Nicklas Bendtner. One player they won't be adding to their squad though is Shaun Wright-Phillips, who has just agreed a move to Queens Park Rangers.
