Sunderland 0-0 Norwich: Player Ratings

Sunderland Player Ratings

Vito Mannone Yet again very solid and no faults, despite no real Norwich threat. Perhaps proved to Poyet that he doesn't need to sign another keeper, and could keep Kieren Westwood out upon his return from injury. 7/10Phil Bardsley Looking better and better as a defender since his return, but needs to work on his shooting if he is to continue having a go from distance. 7/10John O'Shea Best defender on the pitch today, not afraid to get stuck in and certainly working well with this back four. 7/10Wes Brown Similar to O'Shea but let down by his sending off. Will likely miss the next three games at this crucial time. 6/10 Ondrej Celustka Could take shooting lessons with Bardsley or leave the long range efforts to someone else, but defensively a good performance when needed. 7/10Ki Sung Yeung Recalled to the squad following his winner against Chelsea in midweek, but took too many touches when he had an opportunity to shoot, we know he can do better. 6/10Lee Cattermole Cattermole is a player that seems to have calmed down a lot with his tackles, but remains to put too much power into both his passes and shots, and is yet to score his first Sunderland goal after nearly 4 years of shooting. 6/10Sebastian Larsson The Swede is just a shadow of the player he was in his first season at Sunderland, and will have to play better if he wants to win a new contract. Should be taken off free-kicks too. 6/10Emanuele Giaccherini Ran his socks off for over two hours on Tuesday night but this afternoon was a lot quieter for the Italian. Still shows promise and is easily capable of playing better. 6/10Fabio Borini Perhaps the first time his partnership with Jozy Altidore hasn't worked, despite playing a more wide role. Should be used as a super sub in future. 6/10Jozy Altidore Again, not his best of matches and needs someone to seriously help him out up front, as we have seen him play superb at times. 6/10
