Sunderland Transfer News: David Vaughan For Sale At £1 Million

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xVISYzX7068 Sunderland have slapped a £1 million price tag on the head of midfielder David Vaughan, according to the Sunderland Echo. The Welsh international has only one year remaining on his current deal at the Stadium of Light, and this has prompted the Black Cats to look to sell Vaughan. The 30-year-old has struggled to make an impression on the Sunderland squad with the majority of his appearances, being from the substitute bench. Although the Wearside club have brought in more than a handful of players already this summer, DiCanio continues to make plans to overhaul his squad. The Black Cats are still desperate to receive a moderate fee for Vaughan after signing him on a free two years ago. The midfielder scored a memorable goal in Sunderland's derby day victory over Newcastle but Paolo Di Canio is still desperate to add more quality to his side. Vaughan's old boss Ian Holloway is still favourite to sign Vaughan as he looks to bolster his Crystal Palace's side, to keep them from going straight back down to the Championship.
