Sunderland Transfer News: Fraizer Campbell £7 Million Move To Hull?
Fraizer Campbell to Hull City?
Sunderland striker Fraizer Campbell would be willing to leave the Stadium of Light and join Championship side Hull City, according to a report in The Sun. The former Manchester United forward had a loan spell with the Tigers between 2007/08, and his father Keith reportedly said:
Fraizer would definitely be interested.Earlier in December, fpormer Sunderland boss and current Hull manager Steve Bruce was given the go-ahead by the club to make a £7 million bid for the 25 year old, in a bid to boost the side's promotion hopes. Hull are currently second in the Championship, in an automatic promotion spot, but could use the extra firepower to get them over the finishing line this year. Cambell is Bruce's number one transfer target and it is thought he has the backing of owners Assem and Ehab Allam in his pursuit to re-sign the forward. Bruce initially signed Cambell for Sunderland for £6 million in 2009, one year after the striker scored 15 goals whilst on loan at Hull from Man United which helped fire them into the Premier League. The player returned to Old Trafford in 2008 but failed to cement a place in Sir Alex Ferguson's side, and again found himself loaned out, this time to Tottenham, before he was eventually sold to Sunderland, where he has scored 10 times in 63 appearances.
