Team News

Sunderland will be without trio Danny Rose, Carlos Cuellar and Lee Cattermole for tonight's clash with Swansea. Rose and Cuellar have hamstring problems, whilst Cattermole aggravated a knee injury during training. Swansea manager Michael Laudrup has a dilemma as to whether or not to include Sunderland transfer target Danny Graham. Loan signing Roland Lamah could be given his full debut, while Wayne Routledge could play his 150th Premier League game.

Match Preview

Things are looking brighter for both of these sides as they come head to head in tonight's encounter at the Stadium of Light. Sunderland were in the relegation zone at the beginning of last month and Martin O'Neill's side looked to be in real danger of going down, but an impressive run of five wins in eight means the Black Cats could actually move into the top half of the table with a win here tonight. As for Swansea, Wembley awaits as they look ahead to their League Cup encounter with Bradford after dumping Chelsea out of the competition, with a little help of course from a certain ball boy.
