Four goals, three penalties, two of which were missed, and a stunning volleyed goal. What a game this was!

Champions League chasing Spurs couldn’t live with their former striker Darren Bent, who, despite scoring twice, also missed a couple of penalties.

The scoring was opened when Bent slotted home a rebound inside the first minute before he doubled Sunderland’s advantage from the penalty spot. Bent proceeded to somehow miss two more penalties, prior to Peter Crouch heading in for Spurs, to bring a nervy conclusion.

Anton Ferdinand thought he’d sealed the Sunderland victory, only for his goal to be dubiously ruled out.

However, all nerves were calmed when Bolo Zenden added Sunderland’s third with a stunning, acrobatic volley into the top corner. The goal is surely amongst the most underrated in Premier league history.

It was quite a game…
