Sunderland's 2006/07 Promotion Squad - Where Are They Now?

RB - Danny Simpson

After joining Sunderland on loan in the January transfer window - helping the squad to the Championship title in the process - Simpson returned to parent club Manchester United. He enjoyed further loans at Ipswich, Blackburn and Newcastle, before signing permanently with the Magpies. Simpson was once again part of a promotion-winning side at St. James' Park, before moving to QPR and repeating the trick yet again (this time via a playoff final victory over Derby). He is currently at Leicester City, but made only 7 appearances last season. However, he is still only 28 years old, and could well lock down a place in the starting line up of a Premier League club.
