Of course, it€™s unlikely that Swansea are going to be able to attract one of the world€™s best managers to take over at the club. Therefore, another approach is to look at recruiting someone that currently works as an assistant that might be interested in becoming a manager in his own right. However, we know from experience that it€™s a risky to go down since there are more failures than success stories. Graeme Jones is an interesting one, and I would think his chance of making the transition is improved by him still being fairly young at 43. It€™s hard to see why he is one of the front runners for the job since he was the assistant manager with the club from 2007 to 2009. However, he has clearly formed quite a close bond and working relationship with Roberto Martinez. The two worked together at Swansea and Wigan and that situation has continued when he moved to Everton this summer to again link-up with Martinez. Therefore, this one might come down to how confident he is on making the transition to management.
